|
summary
|
Brandon Teena arrived in rural Falls City, Nebraska, in 1993, and found new friends. Three weeks later he was brutally raped and beaten by friends who discovered that he was actually a woman. A week later the same two men murdered Teena along with two other people. This is a tale of Brandon’s coming of age struggle with identity and how his gender ambiguity induced feelings of betrayal, confusion and hostility among residents of a town in America’s heartland.
